The baby phat rush card is a prepaid credit card. It was created by Russell Simmons he co founded the popular Def Jam record label.
The baby phat prepaid card works this way; you make a deposit on your card, then you can use your card to make purchases, then the funds to pay for those purchases are deducted from your card. The card offers 100% guaranteed approval.
There is no credit check or chex systems verification. You can have a card issued to you in black or in pink.
With this card you have free direct deposit. To enroll in this you only have to fill out a form and turn that into your employer or payroll department.
Then you checks will be deposited into your rush card. You will still get a breakdown on your hours and how much the deposit was.
With this card you receive free online account access. You can also access your cash at over 800,000 ATM’s.
You can use your card to make purchases online or over the phone. There is also another benefit; you can write physical paper checks from your rush card account.
To use this feature you visit the website and input the person or business that you want to write a check to. This includes name, amount of payment and address.
Then press send a real physical check will be sent to the business or person. This can save you money by not having to buy money orders again.
With this service and direct deposit you will also save money by not having to pay for check cashing fees.
However, we do not recommend the baby phat rush card. This is because they have many fees that other prepaid cards do not have.
An example of these fees is the convenience fee the rush card has. With this fee you are charged every time you use your card.
The charge for this fee is $1.00. There is a maximum charge of $10.00 a month however you will be charged this $1.00 fee every time during that month.
Only at the end of a full calendar month will the extra convenience fees be refunded to you.
That can end up being a full 2 months before you are refunded. This is unbelievable especially because many of us use are card more than ten times in a month.
Furthermore to be charged for every purchase you make seems outrageous. Then to have to wait for a full calendar month to expire before you are issued your refund is unbelievable.
To enroll in bill pay the rush card will charge you $2.00 and then another $1.00 for every check you write from your account. There are other prepaid cards where this service is free.
The rush card says there are no hidden fees with their card. Yet you get charged every time you use your card. The rush card carries the most fees of any prepaid card we have reviewed.
In sum, stay away from the rush card. There are many other prepaid credit cards available that have lower fees and better benefits.

Dan,
If your going to talk about a product, you should at least know what you are talking about. I am a proud BABYPHAT RushCard holder and what you say is incorrect. Unlike other prepaid cards that i have shopped for and used, RushCard doesnt charge me for customer service – its all free. and it is 24/7. None of that 1 free call per month crap, restricted hours of operation, or long distance. Also, as far as refunding my $1 fees, i have never waited 2 months. do you even have a rushcard? Faithfully, i see my money coming back to me every month. This card is worth every dime you pay for using it. they give me free text alerts as often as i want them and a program to help me rebuild my credit. I am a former account now card holder – and thier service and card SUCK!
The RushCard has fees like any other “passport credit/debit card”. This is to be expected and there are always ways around the fees if you use the card wisely.
AccountNow, also one of these cards (that you recommend) costs either 5 or 10 dollars a month.
RushCard only has the initial setup fee of 10 dollars. It does not have a monthly fee. Depending on how you use the card, the RushCard can be cheaper (while the AccountNow card cannot). Read closer next time!
