Google To Take That PPC And Shove It – Banner Ads Are My MLM Lead Generator

These days, if you are a home business Pay Per Click advertiser, you are probably ready to tell Google to \”Forget You\”. I can\’t blame you with that. Recently the web giant has begun a crack down on \”Get Rich Quick\” ads, whether they are that or not. What is a PPC advertiser to do to continue generating a steady flow of MLM leads?

Banner ads are rarely used or talked about in most MLM circles. People talk about web surfers being blind to banners and how they don\’t get good results. Nothing could be further from the truth, if you know what you are doing. I use this strategy to capture 5-10 very targeted prospects a day without breaking a sweat or the bank. The following are the secrets that I use to get these results.

Keyword research is key to any kind of advertising, but much more important here to get the right leads. The way we will use keywords that we are going after is to search for them online and see what kind of sites we get returned. Once we have identified some sites that match our market, we will proceed to find out how to advertise on them. If they don\’t have a place to advertise on their site, they are probably hooked in with a media buying company such as, BuySellAds, BlogAds, etc.

The good thing about this kind of searching is that even if the site you want isn\’t available, you can use the demographics of the site to find other places to put your ads. Understanding the demographics is key in banner advertising. You don\’t want your ads running on a site whose demos are Young girls when your product is meant for males between 35-43. Quantcast and Alexa are two great sites for starting your demographics search.

Now we have our target market demographics and some great keywords, lets find some banners. You will have a lot of options here depending on whether the company you are advertising for has stock banners or not. If not, there are a couple of options to get some made. You can undertake this process yourself in some photo creation software or outsource this to someone who can create them for you. You can have some nice, professional banners made for under $200.

Now comes the great part for those PPC guys out there. When placing banner ads, you can choose to either pay per click (familiar, huh) or by cost per mille (CPM). The even better news is that a lot of PPC guys are used to paying 2-3 bucks per click where, with banners, you can often get clicks for less than $1. The double better news is that the CPM method gets even cheaper. With CPM, you are paying per thousand impressions on the website you are advertising. It isn\’t uncommon to get CPMs for under 75 cents and you will often find that you get a couple clicks CPM, which makes your CPC (cost per click) around 38 cents.

Last, you need to decide if want to send you leads to directly to your offer or to a landing page. If your offer is over $50 you will be better to send all traffic to a carefully scripted landing page to increase conversions. If you choose not to send them to a landing page, your conversion will likely suffer.

Guys, I understand that there is really nobody talking about banner advertising, which is a good thing if you can learn to advertise their. You will get lazer targeted clicks often at a lot lower cost than traditional PPC. If you\’ve been hit by Google or are concerned you might be, take control of your lead generation and switch your paid MLM leads strategy to banner ads.
