If You’re Taking Advantage Of Social Media As An MLM Lead Generation Method And Not Combining SEO, You’re Missing The Boat

The rage all over internet forums lately seems to be social media marketing through Twitter, Facebook, and related forums. Personally, I am just starting my journey down the social media path and can see the power it holds, but what most people don’t realize is that many of the same ways you brand yourself through social media can help your search engine rankings. For instance, you write and article and post it on one of the sites and it gets some buzz, which is great. You don’t realize that if you have a blog, you could post the article their first, then post it to your social site (with proper anchor text) and transfer that buzz to the content on your site.

Well Eric, what the heck does that matter?

The way to get the number of MLM leads coming in you desire is to combine a multitude of marketing avenues. If you only post the article on the social media site, then that site is the only one that receives the benefit from the buzz. However, if you have it on your blog and then the social site, the benefits are passed to your site through the anchor text, which helps your SEO rankings.

Quick Fact!

That nearly half of Oogle’s ranking algorithm is social media syndication. The days of having just your on page and off page structures correct for ranking are over. Oogle’s end goal is to please their users. You might have an awesome website, but if your content is getting any social approval (i.e. Syndicated or Bookmarked) then you will never rank anything on the search engine.

Wait! I though SEO was really hard.

Not really hard if you understand the principles. Look, you are already using social media to get your content passed around and voted, dugg, tweeted, etc. You need to capitalize on that syndication by having a blog, hubpage, or even a squidoo lense will work. Place your content their, then post a link there in order to receive the benefits of the syndication yourself.

Why doesn’t everyone do this?

A great portion of people are taking advantage of social media to generate MLM leads, but they are overlooking the fact that the work they are doing for social media could be capitalized on from an SEO standpoint with little additional work. Buzz on social media sites is short lived, but rankings on search engines will provide your business with a powerful MLM lead generator into the future.

There are a couple of reasons that people don’t like SEO. First, they think it is to hard. Second, most people are looking for instant gratification in there marketing efforts. SEO is a long term marketing strategy that will outperform all other free avenues down the road.
