How To Create Travel Income

There are numerous ways to generate travel income. Some of them can be enough to support you, some provide a little extra spending money and some actually produce a significant income. Most countries require foreigners to have some kind of work permit if they are to hold any legitimate job. You will usually also need a permit to operate a business. With this in mind, most people will either be unable or choose not to get a work permit. Therefore let us look mostly at activities that can be done under the radar of regulatory agencies.

English Teacher: There are many on and offline programs with which you can obtain a certificate to teach English as a foreign language. Here in Thailand, many foreigners teach English and many are not native English speakers. Often they are working without a work permit and most don’t seem to have a problem. There are always opening somewhere so it’s pretty much a sure thing that you can find work. Some countries pay much better than others. Japan and South Korea are known to pay quite well.

Travel Writing: There are quite a variety of places that travel writers can present their work. Many publications, both online and off need articles. You can offer your work to newspapers, travel magazines, websites, and travel company publications. You can also work on your own by posting articles to your blog. Quality content will attract readers. You can offer your visitors products or affiliate programs or use something like Google Adsense. These all require fairly high traffic to be really effective. You can improve your travel writing skills with some of the online training programs.

Content Writing: Many online sites hire individuals to write articles. You can also do this independently, look for outsourcing sites that will hook you up with buyers. The articles are sold to bloggers and others who don’t have the time or desire to write their own material. This can be a good option if you enjoy writing.

Massage: Massage therapy can be offered in a spa if you are at a professional level. You can also offer your services to people you meet. The pay for massage can be quite good depending on where you are. I was a therapist in Hawaii and the rates ranged from $40 to $120 per hour for massage. I think it is helpful to develop some mastery in at least one style so you have something special to offer.

Importing: I have a few friends whose income is completely from buying and reselling merchandise. They travel to Bali, India, Thailand, and other places, purchase inexpensive goods and ship them home to sell or market them online. They enjoy shopping and it’s a good way to know more about other cultures. Get familiar with your countries import laws to avoid problems later.

Marketing With The Internet: Many people are making a living entirely online. They market products and affiliate programs with a blog or other capture pages. It’s not difficult but you will need some training to be effective. All that is required is your computer and an Internet connection.

Discount Travel Marketing: There are a number of Network Marketing companies that offer discount travel. I work with a company that has travel packages and also allows you to book travel anywhere, online. The business provides me with discount travel and I find many other travelers are interested in this business. I also market it online. It does not cost a lot to get started and has the potential for a very significant return. It requires most people about 3-6 months to create some dependable income. The other plus is that once you’re up and running, it can be maintained with just a few hours work a week.

Travel broadens the mind and expands your world. Enjoy your journey.
