Home Business Success Steps

So you are ready to get your own business into profit. What are your first steps? Where do you get leads? What kind of prospects do you need?
One of the main considerations while you are marketing your business concerns potential customers. You do not want to try to sell puppies to cat lovers or vice versa. In network marketing or mlm’s there are 3 general customers. Of course you have people who will buy just the product or service. Then you have people who will be more interested in the business itself. Of those you have people who are experienced in home business and those who are not.
Consider that in most network marketing, mlm, or other opportunities, you can either retail the products for direct sale profits or you can recruit reps to work the business and earn residuals from their efforts. I suggest a combination of all of the above if you really want home business success. In any case there are certain things you should always have in place.
The first thing you must realize is that no matter what you are doing, if any transaction, exchange, or trade of anything is being made, you are in sales. I want to be clear on this because so many business opportunities constantly make the claim that “this is not sales”. If no sale is made then no profit is made and you are not in business.
Now of course some methods make sales easier. Picture a sales person giving a presentation. It is more effective with a slide presentation or power point than if he or she is just up in front of a room talking. Well with the power of the web power-points can do the explaining before you even talk to the person. The right marketing and advertising can draw all the right people while tools do most of the work for you.
In fact, be proud of the fact that you are in sales. Keep in mind that no product is ever bought or sold without someone selling. This is the beginning of every transaction. No manufacturers can stay in business or employ people without the salesperson. No truck drivers or transporters have jobs without a sale being made. Competition and excellence would be gone.
Also, keep in mind that sales-people are among the highest paid people in the world. Just like a home business owner, sales people are usually directly compensated for their performance.
If you do enjoy just working for others and being an employee then possibly home business success is not for you. Personally, I gave up that gig long ago.
Here are three things to remember:
1) Nearly Eighty Percent of all transactions occur after the sixth contact
2) Statistically 80% of the reps make far below what the top 20% do in sales
3) Statics also show that 80% of all sales reps do not follow up more than a couple times.
It is no coincidence that the 80% who fail also fail at following up with their prospects. This translatesinto less sales for the 80% than the top 20% combined.
The internet can be a huge acceleration for your home business success. You can use the internet to start generating 25-50 leads every single day. But most people cannot handle following up with that many people.
This is why internet tools like autoresponders are so valuable. Autoresponders automatically get back to your prospects with an instant email series. That prospect will get an email within minutes of visiting your site. Then it will proceed with following up on a regular basis. This is one web marketing tool that you should thoroughly research to achieve home business success.
