Are you researching LifePath Unlimited, or perhaps another home business or network marketing opportunity, and getting closer to making the big decision of starting your own business? Before you do, there are a few things you should consider when joining a team or mentor to make sure that you receive all the training and support you need to build your business successfully.
In the LifePath Unlimited business, many teams offer a customised training for their team members. So while you will be joining the same company as your fellow associates, the training and guidance you receive may differ.
You can ask the following questions to your future mentor, to get some insight into the structure of their team, to know what to expect, and to see whether their approach fits your needs:
1. About the training:
How is the training structured; what does it involve; how is the training delivered; how long is the initial training for; what type of ongoing training is provided?
2. About availability:
What hours are you usually available (then you will know when you can contact them); are there other people available to help if you are not available; how many people are you coaching at present?
3. About philosophy:
What is your approach to the business (e.g. thorough, casual, collaborative, etc); what is the most important aspect of the business according to you; how involved are you with the larger community in this company; what do you like and dislike about this business?
4. About the team:
How do team members connect with each other (e.g. is there a shared site for networking); what is the team support like; what resources are shared between team members; will people who join my team have access to the same resources I have access to?
5. About marketing resources:
What marketing resources do you provide; what type of marketing do you focus on; do you help with finding leads while I am going through the training so that I can start making money right away (e.g. through a marketing cooperative); do you provide website templates and/or hosting?
Another important question you may be asking yourself is this: “Should I find a senior mentor and one who has been in the business for a long time?” The answer is ‘not necessarily”! In fact, as you can see through the questions in this article, there are things far more important than status in choosing a mentor! Leadership, diligence, resourcefulness, availability and the right approach are the criteria you should use. Also, the right mentor will come with a supportive and resourceful team, with members contributing with various skills and experience, and which will help you in creating your own success!
Lastly, remember that starting your own network marketing business will place you in a mentor position as well, so while you will be able to rely on your team support, think about how you will answer the questions in this article as a mentor!
