Getting Started In A Network Marketing Business.
Posted by Aaron S. Decker in MLM Friday, 29 October 2010 19:04 No Comments
You’re interested in having your own Multi-level Marketing (MLM) business. Your next question is how to get started.
Often, you know someone who is in an MLM company. They’ve approached you about the business, maybe shown you a video or booklet and you’re excited about the possibilities. One way to get started is to simply join their business. The upside to this approach to MLM is that you already know, like and trust your business partner. (I use the term partner is a generic sense.) The downside to working with someone you know is that you are more hesitant to ask a friend or family member the honest questions that really should go into making a commitment to a home business.
Another way to get started is by joining someone that you have met on the Internet or searching out a company online first, then finding someone whose team you’d like to join. An advantage to this approach is that you can be brutally honest with someone you don’t really know. Disadvantage: you don’t really know this person.
Doing your homework on the company you’re thinking of joining is vitally important. Make sure you read the company Policies and Procedures and the contract before you sign on the dotted line. This may seem like a no-brainer but I have visited with hundreds of people who got into their company without reading the contract and without really knowing anything about the company itself. They may have liked the products, but, honestly, the products are probably the least most important aspect of choosing a company to join.
It’s also important to understand how the compensation plan works. Make sure you find someone who can explain it to your satisfaction. Many reps in MLM companies do not have a clue how they get paid, so they couldn’t tell you how you get paid. You’ll want to make sure you know about both the front-end income and back-end income. Let me explain.
Most MLM companies have both front-end and back-end money to be made. The front-end money is the bonus you get paid when someone joins your team directly. There are usually bonuses when someone you sponsor becomes a sponsor themselves. Then, there is back-end or residual income. This is the income that will allow you to retire someday. A good company should have both. Many companies are more heavily weighted on recruiting and sponsoring so they have really nice bonuses up front but little to nothing on the back end. One question that can clarify this is: “How many people will I need on my team to make $1000, $5000 and $10,000.
Another thing you’ll want to think about going in is how involved you’ll be able to get in this business. What are your goals? Do you just need a little extra money to ease a strained budget? Or are you hoping to one day do this business full-time and make a full-time income? Do you want to be able to build a business that will pay you, your children and your children’s children? (Make sure this is possible in your company before you get started by reading your documents and making sure there are good residuals being paid.)
Those questions are important because you’ll find that your commitment, both in time and money, greatly affects the results. You must know going in that MLM will not make you a lot of money right off the bat. It’s a process. It’s a business that must be treated like a business. You’ll hear the instant success stores and hype but the reality is that it’s persistence that pays off. And if you treat your business like a hobby, as some do, you’ll get hobby results. Better to take up golf, learn to crochet, or do some volunteer work.

Looking For Network Marketing Training
Posted by Jerry Meyer in MLM Sunday, 24 October 2010 10:41 No Comments
If you are just beginning in the MLM world, network marketing training can be a big help. The business is multi-faceted and requires a great deal of focus. For example, there are retails sales to consider. There is also the recruiting part of the business. These are two totally different factors that are part of one concern. Also, there is a huge number of services or products that can be marketed. Situations may be different for each instance. One should try to learn as much as possible about Multi-level or network marketing.
Looking to Your Sponsor
Check with your sponsor or the person that is above you. This can prove to be a valuable source of information. Make sure that you tell this person that you want to learn as much as you can. Your sponsor can be an important mentor in the business.
Your sponsor may be a very good source of learning in other ways. He or she may know of programs that you can take to learn about MLM. Perhaps it is the same program that they use.
Online Learning
Online learning has a great deal of potential for MLM businesses. In fact, you may be overwhelmed with the amount of resources that you find. Take the time to check out reviews of the many courses that are available. Look into books and seminars, also. You will find some very good courses and there will be some that are scams.
You may be able to find many online video and audio tutorials. These may be well worth checking into. Look for tutorials that are offered by someone with experience in MLM. They should have a proven track record and success in all aspects of MLM. One good way to check credentials is with online research. Search the person and see what shows up. There may be a lot of good information on this person. However, there may also be bad information.
You do not have to spend a lot of money while you search. Look for offers that have money back guarantees and free trial periods. This way, you are not risking anything but your time. A trial period should give you enough time to thoroughly evaluate most training methods.
Seminars
A good MLM seminar can be a powerful tool of learning. They sometimes pack a lot of information in a short amount of time. It often times gives you the chance to interact with professionals. This makes it superior to many other learning methods. There is no substitute for asking questions and receiving the information that you seek.
Summary
You have many choices with MLM training courses. Check with your sponsor and ask for recommendations. Be certain that your sponsor knows that you are serious about learning. Check the many resources on the Internet about MLM. You should always read reviews before buying any type of course. Make sure they offer a trial period, in case the course is not for you. Look at videos and books as a source of higher education. Do not forget the power of MLM seminars, either. They can provide you with one on one communication and a good source of network marketing training.

Nuts And Bolts Of MLM: Just What Is MLM?
Posted by Aaron S. Decker in MLM Sunday, 24 October 2010 09:51 No Comments
You’ve heard it from friends – you should join my MLM business. You’ve seen ads online or heard them on radio – make money from home and quit your job. You’ve seen the signs on the street corner – fire your boss.
Could someone just skip the hype and explain what MLM is?
Well, MLM is simply another method of moving products or services from the producer to the consumer. It’s a legitimate way of marketing that uses a network of folks who use the products and share the products with a few other people as well.
There are other names for Multi-level Marketing (MLM.) They include, Referral Marketing and Network Marketing. Basically you are simply building a business from home.
There are several other methods of selling products.
The first you might think of is the Retail Model. This is your brick and mortar store where you’ go to buy groceries, books, and clothes. Some have sales people. Some don’t. There are also online versions of these popular stores like Target, Barnes and Noble, and Home Depot. Some retail outlets only have an online presence, like Amazon.com. But they are all using the Retail Model.
Direct Sales is another common way of moving product. This is a more one-on-one relationship between the sales people and the customers. Direct Sales companies include many insurance vendors, some home jewelry sales companies, and “Ding, Dong, Avon Calling.”
In the MLM model, products are moved to consumers along the network, both to network “members” and to their customers. Commissions are paid through all the levels of the network. Everybody does a portion of the work and gets a portion of the money. The beauty of the MLM model is that the team works together to make more money than each could simply working alone.
The theory of MLM is that, since it is a more efficient model, with the company not having to pay for buildings and utilities and a staff of thousands all over the world, the company can pay more to the field of network marketers who are doing the work. This means more money to those who are building the business from their homes.
The question always arises whether MLM is a Pyramid Scheme.
In a word: No. MLM is a legal way of moving products and services to the end consumer. Pyramids are illegal. They generally do not have either a product or a service, even though they may appear to. There are many great companies out there that have been around for a long time. Remember, it’s simply another system of marketing. A little research into the business you’re looking at can give you the answers you’re looking for.
MLM is a great way for a normal, everyday person to build an extraordinary income over time. It is not a get rich quick deal and if folks make that claim, find another sponsor or another company. Do your homework, there are some things to look for in a good company. Find one that’s a good fit and then get to work!

Unemployed At 50? It’s Time To Think Out Of The Box
Posted by Bruce Holmes in MLM Thursday, 21 October 2010 16:31 No Comments
In America today more and more people around the age of 50 are unemployed. To add to this stress most have also seen a serious decline in their retirement accounts.
There was a couple being interviewed on television last week. The man had been fired from a six figure sales job and the women lost her position as an executive assistant. They had used up their unemployment benefits and had used up most of their savings. He finally landed a part-time job at a Starbuck’s Coffee and she began working at a child-care center. They are barely hanging on.
Currently there are thousands of people like the couple on television. Today people are applying for jobs they are over qualified for and that are paying a lot less then they were making. To make matters worse they are competing for these positions against people half their age.
At a time when many are trying to help their kids through college and others thought they would be coasting into retirement, they are struggling. Most of these people are doing what they have been taught to do, what they have always done and that is look for a job.
Many have been looking unsuccessfully for months for that job with decent enough pay and benefits to allow them to rebuild their retirement accounts, They are looking at a new reality. It is time to think out of the box and look for different alternatives.
They are going have to find that American entrepreneurial spirit. Instead of looking for a job they are over qualified for and that will never give them what the want and need they should consider setting up their own home business. One very inexpensive way to do that is my joining a Network Marketing Company.
Many think that this type of marketing is a pyramid scheme that allows only the people in first or on top to make money, but that is not true. Some of these companies sell over a billion dollars in product a year. You don’t reach that level of sales volume by being a scam. Billionaire Donald Trump, who has talked about the power of network marketing for years, has put his reputation on the line with the development of the Trump Network, a health and wellness network marketing company. (The Author is not part of Trump Network.)
There are thousands of people relying on network marketing to make $500 to $5,000 a month. The average cost to join a network marketing company is $500 dollars, with some starting as low as $75. These companies provide the distributors with everything they need to get started in the business. Network Marketing Companies are providing many with a new chance to earn money in these difficult times.
