Small Victories…
Posted by Jay Kubassek in MLM Sunday, 5 September 2010 16:00 No Comments
Ambition. An entrepreneur’s best friend, and often, fiercest enemy.
Ambition fuels our passions. Ambition is the source of sleepless nights, and joyous celebrations. It blinds us at times – lights our path during others.
It’s the end of the week, and one cannot help but take inventory of what has been accomplished. Did I get the garage organized? Did I update my Twitter page? Did I follow up with the leads I was supposed to? Did I run 10 miles?
We live in a world where the pace of our lives seems to increase everyday. There is always more to do, and seemingly less time to do it in. It can feel at times like we are stuck on a treadmill, chasing after that dangling carrot. A nibble here, a nibble there. But…always just a touch out of reach.
Well my friends, trust me, you are not alone! Every entrepreneur, regardless of their success, deals with this everyday. But the key is, at least as I’ve found in my progression a entrepreneur, is to cherish the process. Cherish the small victories. The steps FORWARD.
One of the oldest, and most cliche sayings in the world is: “ROME wasn’t built in a day.” It’s one of the oldest because…well because it’s TRUE!!!
Peaks and Valleys are natural aspects in the life of an entrepreneur. But those who flourish are not those who become discouraged by what has been left undone, but instead, those who celebrate the small victories of what HAS BEEN DONE. The progression, the journey.
“It doesn’t matter if you try and try and try again, and fail. It does matter if you try and fail, and fail to try again”- Charles Kettering
Have a great weekend everyone. Oh yeah…and celebrate a little. You DESERVE IT.

How To Answer Questions About Your On Line Business
Posted by Donna Fuller in MLM Tuesday, 29 June 2010 12:13 No Comments
Internet Marketers typically spend most of their time working on their own. If they use a time managing method they will usually spend up to 8% of their work time on activities that generate income, what are called IPA. The rest of the time they should use for skill enhancement, or for learning new skill sets. I am often asked what skills are best for Internet marketers.
I am of the school that thinks that marketing is EVERYTHING that you do to promote your online business, your products and yourself. So this gives you a broad range of subjects that you can learn or review in your 20% “downtime”. Industry guru Mike Dillard of “Magnetic Sponsoring” fame believes that personal development is the key to success in your business, and I agree.
Early in my business career, I neglected responding to questions posed by customers, prospects and colleagues, because of my pre-nascent knowledge of the industry. Many of the questions I received were a challenge to me, and I did not really make the connection between a questions, and requests for more information. I had not learned to analyse the questions and store my answers for use again.
Here is a powerful technique you can use to improve your responses to questions about your online marketing business.
1. List the questions you have received. Don’t stop there – list all the potential questions you can think of. Brainstorm, check your emails, read forums, get as large a list of potential game breakers as you can.
2. Sort into topics. Some of the questions may be stupid, but list them anyway. Whoever asked the question did not see the question as stupid. Some will seem more important than others, some will be asked more than once.
3. Any each question from as may perspectives as you can. Sometimes, a question is asked to discover what has not been mentioned, or to fulfil a need of the questioner. Some may be more of a statement than a question. Ensure that your response includes a request for more information, or asks a question of the respondent.
4. Look over you list of responses for obvious errors. Check you are not rude or combative if the question was irritating or mindless. Always remember that the question comes from a potential business partner, and in it’s basic form is a plea for more information.
5. Survey each of your questioners. Send a follow-up message asking if you were of help, and ask if there is more you can do. You will find the feedback of immense help with future questions.
Initially, your answers will not be the best possible. However you will get better with practice. Eventually you will become a Q&A expert, and your knowledge and the success of your business will grow.

The Secret To Winning Negotiation For Network Marketing
Posted by Donna Fuller in MLM Tuesday, 29 June 2010 08:51 No Comments
When I first started my network marketing business, I had a real fear of approaching people to join the business. Other people called it the “Fear of Cold Calling” and there was an element of truth to that. Everyone has a streak of xenophobia in them, that fear of the strange or alien, and if you are outside your comfort zone, EVERYTHING seems strange and alien.
I understood the issue and believed that it did not apply to me as I genuinely like meeting people and am usually unfazed by talking with them. My issue was fear of rejection – rejection of a my business proposals in which I had much emotional energy tied up. When I realized what my problem was I was able to apply solutions.
A recognised strategy for business or personal scenarios is to break down the situation to the basic actions to facilitate assessment. The possible and probablle and potential outcomes can them be calculated, and appropriate strategies proposed. The optimum strategy is one that includes positives for all parties. What this means is that the goals, and needs of everyone is considered.
If you think about that objectively, you are forced to focus on the gestalt, rather than your desired outcome. This is empowering in that the other party will quickly realize that you are not pressuring them, or looking for the quick sale. Their interactions will be more open, relaxed and ready for any required negotiation.
If this sounds complex, don’t panic. Techniques are available to help set the strategies. I use a chart which some will recognise as a Ben Franklin to identify the various factors at play.
My first step is to identify what I want to achieve from the meeting/call or conversation. I do that by identifying my goals, the emotions I expect to experience, and the expectations I have. This takes practice and some thought, as while goals and expectations are concrete, emotions are tricky little suckers. They affect everything we do, at work, at home, with family, friends – and with our prospects and customers.
I then try to work out a similar list for the other parties. Again the emotions of the other parties may be more difficult than their potential goals and expectations.
An example of an interaction might be if I called a lead to see if they were ready to fill in an application for my business.
My goals are to find out if the lead wants to complete an application, and if they do facillitate the application. If they do not want to at this time my goal is for the lead to stay as a subscriber to my newsletters.
I need to be aware that I could be excited, afraid or disappointed, depending on the possible outcomes.
My expectations are that they will fill in an application, and if they don’t want to, that I can persuade them to remain on my mailing list. I also expect that they will want to avoid making a decision involving money, and will be suspicious of my motives, if not outright hostile. I also expect that some WILL be hostile, rude or dismissive.
The other parties goals may be to find out what I am selling, and to NOT spend money. They will fear that I will persuade them to buy something they don’t want or need, to rip them off or disadvantage them. There could be an element of excitement about the opportunity. They expect me to be “pushy” and sell themon my business. they are expecting to say No!
By anticipating these factors, I am in the drivers seat and can plan for each and every contingency. I can work out how to make the interaction positive for them, and help us both reach mutual understanding and respect. We have a much better chance of reaching a negotiated and mutually acceptable outcome.

You Can Open A Personal Development Business
Posted by Michael Berry in MLM Monday, 12 April 2010 10:17 No Comments
One of the top five fastest growing markets across the globe is the area of personal growth. In 2008, sales were up 72% from 2007, at over $19 billion dollars. In 2009, sales were predicted to reach more than $30 billion worldwide. Getting involved in a personal development business may be just the career you have been looking for.
Defining Personal Development
Personal development is simply improving yourself and intentionally taking steps toward being the kind of person you envision and toward living the life you want to live. Personal development takes all different forms, including listening to motivational speakers, reading inspirational books, resolving issues from the past with the help of a psychotherapist, meditating for stress relief and physical exercise.
Speaking
Some people work as motivational speakers on the lecture circuit. If you have a knack for catching and keeping the attention of an audience, as well as an inspirational life story, speaking may be the route you want to go with your business. There are several speaker’s bureaus online that will provide information on exactly how to go about becoming a motivational speaker.
Self-Improvement Writers In Demand
Other people express themselves best through the written word. These individuals can pursue their business by writing articles for magazines offline, writing self-help books or by creating a website filled with helpful content and offering email or instant message coaching sessions.
Personal Characteristics For Success
A successful personal development business depends a great deal on your personality and your ability to interact with others in a way that will inspire and motivate them to continue progressing towards their ultimate life – even when things get difficult. If you can relate empathically to people and understand what they need without them having to explicitly state it, you will likely be able to develop a very profitable and satisfying business.
