Concerning The Rebirth of Affiliate Marketing

There has been a lot of buzz around the web about Google banning certain Affiliate Marketers who used Adwords. People are nervous affiliate marketing is not going to last.

Zappos Shoes; Turbo Tax; Web hosting; Norton Anti-virus; 123 Inkjets; Travelocity; Automobile parts; Lawn and Garden products; Weight Watchers; Pet prescriptions and pet products; sporting goods and equipment; and Rosetta Stone language learning are all part of the legitimate brick and mortar companies that utilize affiliate marketing practices. They are reputable companies with well established products.

One of the ways you can add value to your site as an affiliate is to post “product reviews and testimonials.” Use real testimonials of some well- established customers. You should also use a product or service first before you promote it, so that your ad remains authentic. Use feedback from others who have used the product, including family and friends. You are able to report the true experience some one has had with the product and can stand behind what you are professing.

Another plus is to create a “super niche or an angle” surrounding your product. For example, it already established that people looking at a Weight Watchers ad are looking because they want to lose weight. Finding away to fine tune the angle or create the niche is the draw that will hook them in. One of the reasons you are looking to lose weight is because you are going a high school reunion or other important upcoming event, or you are going on a vacation. There is no shortage of niches you can create, from the newly divorced looking for a date to the ones who just want to be healthy.

The days of easy profits from affiliate offers are long gone. The only security in this business is to hone your craft and get really, really good at copywriting, buying traffic, negotiation/joint venturing, and any other direct marketing skill. When all is said and done, remember that Affiliate Marketing is selling to a consumer without the face-to-face aspect of sales.
