Three Alternative Ways To Gain Targeted Traffic At Low Cost

June 11th, 2010

Starting an online business is easy these days. There are lots of money making programs like Google Adsense, CPA marketing or Clickbank affiliate marketing that pay you generous money for sending traffic or customers to their merchants. You can save time and build a website with no hassle thanks to many blogging script like Blogger, Type Pad or WordPress.

However, getting traffic to your website could be hard if you do it the wrong way. Plus, not all traffic will convert into sales or leads. You can send traffic in many ways, but only targeted traffic will bring you money and make you rich.

One of them would be to use search engine optimization. This is the number one traffic method for most marketers since it really works and brings lots of traffic for free. If you are on low budget, or want to earn profit for long term, without having to spend much money on advertising, search engine optimization is the way to go.

On the other hand, there are still other options available, aside from SEO. If you are ready to spend some money every month, the following are some advertising channel that you can choose:

1. PPC advertising.

This is one great alternative to SEO. There are several PPC networks available, like Adbrite, MIVA, MSN Adcenter but the number one PPC advertising program is Google Adwords. With Adwords, you can get the same targeted traffic as you do with SEO. However, it will save you lots of time for not building links and quality content in your website.

If you are using Adwords, the first thing you need to do is mastering Google search network first. Unlike content network, search network is highly targeted. When a customer is ready to buy something, he would probably enter the keyword in Google search and that is when you ads appear.

If you want to get the most of your advertising cost, you need to optimize your campaigns. One way to do that is by sending the traffic to a website that provides relevant information. Then, add more pages in your website like privacy policy, disclaimer, contact page and other relevant articles. This will increase your quality score and as the reward, Google will give you higher ranking but cheaper cost-per-click than your competitors.

2. Join Facebook advertising program.

Facebook is becoming popular lately. Based on research, Facebook website has even more traffic than Google in some weeks. If you don’t add Facebook as one of your traffic sources you will be left behind. Other smart marketers would probably use Facebook ahead of you.

One great thing about using Facebook Ads, is you can receive lots of traffic without having to pay high price or compete with millions of Adwords users. Unlike Myspace, Facebook runs its own advertising program. You can avoid the bidding war like most people do with Adwords.

3. Try PPV advertising programs.

There are lots of PPV networks available. Lead Impact is one of them. PPV shouldn’t be confused with banner ads. If you are using banner ads, you will pay for total impression. That is how many people view your banners.

However, PPV works in different ways. Your ads will appear in pop-up each time one web user enters one keyword when looking for products or services. You will pay each time the pop-up appears. In other words, just like PPC, you will pay for each traffic and not based on ads impression.

Rapid Income Creator is a program created for PPV marketers. It will show buyers the exact keywords and landing pages to use for PPV campaigs. This will cut 80% trial and error like most people do with PPV. If you need more details, visit Rapid Income Creator site.

Twitter Rolls Out ‘Promoted Tweets’ To Finally Turn Profit

April 22nd, 2010

California based social network Twitter is the fastest growing social networking site of all time and has been valued at over 1bn but in order to achieve this worth, it must answer one begging question that has been troubling the web since its birth, how will it make money? The company has avoided any move towards traditional advertising in its four years and it’d executives claim that it has been developing over the years to add value before profit.

It has recently launched ‘promoted tweets’ which have been described by Biz Stone, Co-founder of Twitter as “ordinary tweets that businesses and organisations want to highlight to a wider group of users”.

To begin with the promoted tweets will only appear at the top of relevant search results, similar to Google’s ‘sponsored links’ but a second stage will relevantly integrate the tweets into users feeds.

Some of the first companies to invest include Starbucks, Virgin America, Best Buy and Red Bull. These companies are not only benefitting from the model but also receiving relevant hype from its launch.

To control the relevance of promoted tweets and ensure its success, Twitter Executives insist that these promoted tweets must “resonate with users”. If the tweets are not retweeted and replied to, they will be deleted.

There is no doubt of Twitter’s power as a channel of influence creating buzz around a product or service, but some experts worry that this new concept, although necessary to ensure its survival, could be shunned by users, causing them to hit back at the brands and create a negative online buzz. Something the brands would have no control over and struggle to deal with.

Companies have had great success with use of twitter as a customer service tool, brands are able to respond, in real time, to negative customer feedback which can have a positive effect on the image of the company. Some experts think that users enter twitter in a ‘complaining’ mood rather than a ‘buying’ one so this new ad format may only cause trouble, in real time, which companies will have to respond to.

I Smell Money…It’s Banner Ads

March 14th, 2010

Google is slapping some advertisers, meaning they have turned off the accounts of some who use AdWords. Additionally even if Google did not ‘slap’ some advertisers, AdWords may not always be the right channel for every vendor. Here is an example, if the average return is 1.5 percent; a $1000 per month campaign will get 100 clicks (at a $10 Cost-Per-Click) and a 1.5 % of a potential client.

Well here is an announcement that could help you…banner advertising is not dead. The banner advertising I am referring to is in the area of placement ads. On Google’s content network you can pick and choose where you want your banner ads to be seen. As with any marketing campaign, Pay-Per-Click, Banner Ads or even print ads, take the time to do research. Would it make sense to have a product or service targeted to women and then place ads on a web site wherein the demographic of the site visitor is overwhelmingly male? Quantcast (.com) and like sites can help you find out where is the best place to advertise. If time is taken to do research, generally a good result is had. Google has an option which allows them to place your ads automatically. Personally, I do not recommend selecting this option as you lose control of your ads. Additionally, this can be a financial sink hole, draining your wallet before the campaign ever gets off the ground.

Taking the time to do the research as to the best sites is a good investment of your time. If you have product dedicated to a target demographic of males, 50 years of age and above, you can use a web site such as Quantcast (.com) and find out where is the best place to advertise. When investigation and study is done better results can be yielded. I do not recommend allowing Google or any other search engine providers to automatically select where your ads can be placed. Using this option will lead to wasting your marketing budget as the SE now has control.

Banner ads present the opportunity for an individual to generate income. A passive income is what many are searching for. AdSense from Google is a good service. This requires one to have a web site wherein these ads can be placed. The ads placed on an AdWords site are not controlled by the site owner. Google places ads relevant to the theme of the web site, and then pays the site owner a portion of every click that is made on the site. Some web masters can buy a website at Template Monster (.com) and have a site ready in just a few hours. With a little promotion via Search Engine Optimization or using social media outlets on a regular basis a following can be built.

Here are some of the items that are taught on the videos; (1) The secret Google PPC tool that will allow you to go deep into any niche, with any offer, and seriously clean up using banner ads. (2) Where to find the exact high traffic _____ that will let you kick your income through the roof. (3) Where to get your ads displayed millions of times, for just PENNIES… if you’ve got even an awful banner, millions of impressions will add up to some serious traffic… and I’ll show you how to make a LOT of money from this.

At $77 to buy the class I thought this was a fair deal. You will waste time searching on the internet trying to find all the stuff these folks rolled into one simple download. Also they are giving an 8 week, completely risk free trial of this system before you need to decide if you’re happy.

Embracing The Power Of Online Advertising such as Pay Per Click

March 9th, 2010

Now is a good time for businesses to steer away from the more traditional methods of promoting their products or services and embrace the power of online advertising.

A report published recently by Forrester Research stated that the global economic downturn would have no damaging effect upon online advertising, in fact it would accelerate the shift of media spend to the internet. In the UK, online advertising spend has already topped 3 billion and by 2013 it is predicted that 15% of all European advertising budgets will be spent online.

There are many ways to make the internet work for your business but one of the most cost effective ways, especially for short-term advertising campaigns, is to use the services of a Pay Per Click management company to run a PPC campaign.

Pay Per Click (PPC) is a form of online advertising that allows you to buy your way to the top of search results pages for search phrases relevant to your business. Businesses buy advertising on specific search phrases and are then charged each time a person clicks through to their website.

Pay Per Click is a relatively low cost method of driving increased traffic to your website and as it generates traffic immediately, it is quick way of creating a buzz about what you do. You can’t say this about the more traditional methods of advertising – imagine having to wait weeks for the yellow pages to arrive on the doorstep of your potential customer, only to find they will not read your advert because, like 70% of people, they use the internet to locate the products and services they require.

There is also a lack of flexibility with the more traditional forms of advertising. It is often impossible to amend an advert once it has been placed in a magazine or directory and any changes have to wait until the next edition is ready to be printed, which means time lost and an extra cost. You don’t have to worry about this with PPC as your Pay Per Click management company will be able to add, delete or remove keywords as and when necessary.

Whilst the more traditional forms of advertising may be best suited to long term marketing strategies, pay per click is idea for short term advertising campaigns. If you cannot wait to see advertising spend converted into sales revenue PPC is the perfect solution as it can offer an immediate return on investment, especially if your website can process sales online.

So basically, it boils down to this – people are looking for what you sell at this precise moment and if you are relying on them finding you in the unopened Yellow Pages your competitors will be laughing all the way to the internet bank! You need to act now and embrace the power of online advertising. If you do it right, through a PPC management company, you will drive that traffic directly to your website and your rivals won’t even get a sniff.
