There are as many ways of “doing seo” as they are people with opinions about them.

In other words, everyone’s opinion is different and many of us are quite vocal about our differences.

There are however a few things that most of us agree on. From 2009 forward, the most important parts of search engine optimization outside of the obvious on page optimizations are getting keyword correct backlinks from authority sites.

Authority sites are not altogether eager to let spammers in to gum up the works. Most spammers play an escalating game with their spammer competition and as such frequently appear to have no scruples that the regular public can discern. Many seo spammers have no qualms about placing the same exact piece of information in front of a user 10 times to ensure that the user clicks and goes to the spammers destination page.

So authority sites clamp down on spammers and in doing so make it a little harder for regular ordinary mom and pop sites to get links from them too.

But “no worries”, as my aussie friends would say, there are ways around the madness.
