Everyone is talking about Twitter these days. You hear it every where from the local news broadcaster, radio stations, you even see local business, and national corporations promoting that you follow them on twitter to catch up on the latest news, deals, or promotions that they have to offer. That’s because it’s such a powerful tool to keep in contact with your customers, and is proving itself to be a huge player in the marketing tool box!
But let’s take a look and consider if it’s even worth it for an average person to even consider using Twitter for marketing their products. Does it really matter if the local news station is using social media if it can’t bring you any sales? Absolutely not, but the great thing about this site is that it has over 70 million active users, a large majority of which are getting their tweets sent directly to their phone. So no matter what product or service you’re selling, there are definitely people on Twitter who are your customers, or who very well could be.
Having this huge amount of people on their site is what attracts so many marketers. Just being able to tap into even a small portion of the 70+ million users can and is very profitable for many small, medium, and large sized businesses all over the world. The question stands, is it worth it to invest your time with?
It provides a good potential for follow-ups in which you would tweet back into the same group of people with information that would benefit them. By allowing the consumer to be exposed to quality information, they start to follow you closely. As they follow you, you could start to pepper in advertisements to allow the customer to make repeated purchases, thereby increasing the profits you make per customer. By doing the same thing, also means that you leave a good impression on the customer, who might go about spreading the word on your good product, resulting in even more business for your product and or service, and could convert into more profits in the end.
These soft sells and hard sells work wonders for people on Twitter and that’s why so many large and small corporations all over the world are going crazy over twitter.
