Home Business Success For Any One

And so you might be all set to get your private internet business in to profit. Just what are the primary steps? Where do people obtain prospects? Just what sort of potential customers do you need?

There are a few types of leads that a home business owner has at their finger tips. The primary targets are opportunity seekers, opportunity doers, and of course retail sales. What is the difference?

Consider that in most network marketing, mlm, or other opportunities, you can either retail the products for direct sale profits or you can recruit reps to work the business and earn residuals from their efforts. I suggest a combination of all of the above if you really want home business success. In any case there are certain things you should always have in place.

One fact that many people do not like to face is that this is sales. Owners like to shove it under the rug because so many people have crappy feelings about being a sales person. Consider the fact that if no sales are being made you are not making earning any profits.

Now of course some methods make sales easier. Picture a sales person giving a presentation. It is more effective with a slide presentation or power point than if he or she is just up in front of a room talking. Well with the power of the web power-points can do the explaining before you even talk to the person. The right marketing and advertising can draw all the right people while tools do most of the work for you.

The under rated salesman is the most undervalued job today. People often look in disdain at sales people. But consider this: without sales you don’t have a job. Your company does not have a business. Well unless we all become government employees.

Also, keep in mind that sales-people are among the highest paid people in the world. Just like a home business owner, sales people are usually directly compensated for their performance.

However, if you like being just another number and getting paid what a job is worth and do not want to be rewarded according to your efforts and performance then maybe home business success is not for you.

A few important things to consider:

1) Over 80 percent of purchases are not made until the sixth exposure

2) Statistically 80% of the reps make far below what the top 20% do in sales

3) The lower 80% of sales people who are constantly going broke do not follow up on a regular basis.

Hopefully you are starting to see the link here. The top 20% do what the bottom 80% don’t – they follow up repeatedly and it shows in immense incomes.

One huge asset to marketing on the web is also the tools that you can use explode your business. One key to success is generating lots of leads every single day. In fact, you you need so many leads per day that you cannot handle all the follow up.

This is why internet tools like autoresponders are so valuable. Autoresponders automatically get back to your prospects with an instant email series. That prospect will get an email within minutes of visiting your site. Then it will proceed with following up on a regular basis. This is one web marketing tool that you should thoroughly research to achieve home business success.

How Tracking Conversion Rates Can Help You Meet Your Sales Goals

Do you know the number of leads you need to generate to reach your income goals? While this may seem like an easy question, not a lot of people can come up with the number.

When answering this question, there are two considerations. Expenses are your first consideration. You should make sure to have an accounting program advanced enough to help you analyze your costs and how they relate to your profitability.

The next factor to take into consideration is how successful you are at converting sales from your leads (conversion rate). If you are successful at lead conversion, you will see a significant improvement to your bottom line.

Let’s take a look at the process more closely:

First you need to settle on a sales goal for each month. For our purposes, let’s use $100,000 as your monthly sales goal.

The next step is to work out what your conversion rates are. In order to keep this example easy, suppose that all of your leads come from your website.

Now, let’s say that for every 1000 visitors, you “convert” 2.5 into sales leads. That’s a .25% conversion rate.

Here is a formula to calculate the number of visitors your would need to meet your monthly sales goals. Let’s assume every conversion will actually purchase from you in order to keep it easy.

(Desired Sales / Sale Price / Conversion Rate) X 100

The formula would look like this, if you want to achieve $100,000 a month in sales, you have a conversion rate of .25% and your average sales price is $20:

($100,000 / $20 / .25) X 100 = 2,000,000 visitors needed per month to achieve your sales goal.

Wow! That is a lot of visitation!

Now, there are a few things you can do to change things. You can change your price. You can change your visitation, or you can change your conversion rate.

Most find the easiest fix is to improve conversion rate. By testing various options and changes, it is possible to improve a .25% conversion to about 2%.

Take a look at the difference that makes to the number of visitors you need to achieve your goals:

($100,000 / $20 / 2) X 100 = 250,000 visitors per month to achieve your sales goal.

That’s a nice change!

By increasing your average sales price to $47, you can improve your results even more:

($100,000 / $47 / 2) X 100 = 106,383 visitors per month to achieve your sales goal.

If you are like most, you would rather make smart changes to improve your sales success rather than work harder. Hopefully these examples drive home the importance of planning the leads you will need to reach your sales goals, and testing the factors you can change to become more efficient.

Using Aweber Autoresponder Program to Boost Your Online Business

Aweber is an auto-responder and is one of the foremost of its kind on the web. There are others, but we’ve used this one exclusively for over three years and like it (mostly).

Three good things about Aweber: it’s fairly cheap, easy to use, and can be implemented into your website to start collecting leads and sending out messages within about an hour. That’s essential these days as no one wants a service with a high learning curve. You don’t have an auto-responder service? Stop reading this article right now and go and get one. Yes, they can be that crucial for your success. They capture information from visitors to your site and this info gets sent right to you (great, huh?) Your visitors fill out a little form (usually to get a free report or ezine packed full of your special secrets) and you get their precious info to keep marketing to them.

The trick to using this system well is to make sure your forms are well-designed and easy to fill out. A long, convoluted form is a sure way to drive away prospects. Keep it short and sweet and make your free offer enticing and you’ll get lots of sign ups pretty quickly.

Second: Have your messages pre-written and scheduled to go out before you ever implement your auto-responder. Your prospects will receive the first one immediately upon confirming their request for it (in their email) and you should have it ready to go. You can write additional messages (this is strongly encouraged) to be sent weekly, monthly or how often you choose.

Tip #3: Send messages weekly or a few times a month, but we strongly urge you not to email everyday. Many online marketers do this, but it just irritates the heck out of us and clogs our email boxes. If messages come too often (some nervy clueless wonders send several a day—how quick can you say “unsubscribe me”?) You don’t want unsubscribes unless you can help it. They are those who decide they don’t like you or the horse you rode in on and want to not receive any more messages from you. Keep your messages informative and send them in an appropriate timeframe.

Aweber works fairly well. We’ve used it for lots of autoresponders, lead collection, and sending pre-scheduled broadcasts (messages sent out to everyone on your list-great if you have an extra special promotion going on). Unfortunately, it always seems to load a bit slow and the process of loading photos and new messages is sometimes irritatingly pokey. We’re not sure why this is, but it’s been like this for as long as we’ve used it so we just grin and bear it. Hopefully they work on this.

Basically, it’s a decent, well-performing service and one we can recommend. Do you own homework and make the choice that is right for you. Aweber is but one choice, and for our money, it’s the one that works for us.
