What you do doesn’t matter as much as the fact that you are doing something. Of course, I’m not talking about busywork. You don’t want to spend your time rushing around and yet accomplishing nothing. Take action doing productive work that will lead you to your goals. It doesn’t matter if your action is physical or mental; planning is also a form of taking action – so long as your planning doesn’t lead to procrastination.
Not getting into action is one of the biggest mistakes new attraction marketers can make. Get into immediate, massive action. You want to sprint across the finish line.
Michael Masterson, the self-made multimillionaire marketer with Agora Publishing and “Early to Rise” published a book not long ago entitled “Ready, Fire, Aim”. The premise of “Ready, Fire, Aim” is “don’t wait for everything to be perfect.” You don’t have to have all of your ducks lined up in a row. Just jump into your business with energy, total commitment, and enthusiasm. You’ll be glad you did.
Many people won’t get started right away because they are waiting for better tools. It takes a lot of energy to overcome inertia. Man has a tendency toward procrastination, and this is just another means of putting things off. Don’t wait for better tools, start with the tools you have and as you proceed toward business success, better tools will be made available to you.
Sometimes we are afraid to act because we are afraid to fail. I am a former teacher, and I demanded excellence from my students. I used to always tell them, “If it’s worth doing, it’s worth doing right.”
Ty Tribble, the world’s number one blogger on internet marketing, put a new spin on that quote. When he told me how long it would take him nightly to follow up on phone calls and leads, he really had me laughing. He made all his calls in his garage because he didn’t want to sound stupid or weak in front of his wife.
Ty was willing to make mistakes and learn from them. He now shares what he has learned: no action gets no results; massive action gets massive results. Just get moving, start acting, and don’t spend all your time dreaming of what you want to do. Make your dream a reality. Don’t be afraid of mistakes. His spin on my old saying was “If it’s worth doing, it’s worth doing wrong.” All knowledge is valuable, and learning by doing is one of the best ways to learn.
Don’t let other’s opinions or doubts sap your enthusiasm. You have a d ream of what you can do for yourself and your family. And if an effort doesn’t work out, not a problem! Don’t let that discourage you.
It is not a failure if your first or even second effort does not succeed. Failure is not trying at all, and letting your dreams wither away. Sadly, most people do just that, because of fear or pride or concerns about what other people will think.
What if you fail? So what! You should be applauded because you took a step forward towards your dreams. Ninety percent of the people will never even do that. Many people fail before they ultimately succeed. Do you know why the cleaning solution is named “Formula 409″? Because it was the 409th formulation that finally worked. That means 408 formulas failed, but the creators did not stop.
There’s a steep learning curve any time you start something new, but the more you do something the more it becomes habit and finally second nature. Eventually what you need to do to be successful will be so ingrained in you that you won’t even have to think about it. It will just be something that you do.
So dive in with full confidence. You’ll learn as you go. I’m sure you’ve heard the expression that 99% of success is just showing up. Unfortunately most people won’t show up. They default in the game of life. But you’ll be there.
I recently attended a live even training with Jeff Walker, a master internet marketer and the creator of the product launch formula. He told a story about the time he offered a free website review to anyone who purchased a specific product from him. After the product was sold, he determined that he owed 60 people bonus website reviews.
Jeff is very thorough and detail oriented. He was worried about how long it would take him to complete all 60 website reviews as he promised. However, he is also a man of his word, so he was prepared when the first person contacted him. He spent about 2 hours doing the review. The same thing happened with the second and third people to contact him.
Jeff braced himself and was prepared to do 57 more reviews, but no one else ever came forward to request the free service. A free website review would certainly have helped people, but they never took action to get it.
I have to agree with Napoleon Hill when he wrote “Action is the real measure of intelligence.
