Pay per click (PPC) advertising is one of the most cost effective ways to reach consumers on the net. PPC ads are a form of contextual search engine based advertising, meaning that your ads are targeted based on the keywords people use when searching for products and services like the ones your business offers.

Pay Per Click advertising is more focused than traditional forms of advertising. At the click of a button, it affords visitors to a website the opportunity to know more about a product or service they are interested in. PPC is commonly done in conjunction with search engine results so that relevant ads can be presented based on the search terms entered. Advertisers compete for advertising space and bid what they are willing to pay for each click for those keywords. PPC advertising is an advertising solution offered by internet business giants involved in search engine, websites and advertising networks. The PPC advertising is a web marketing tool that contains keywords and phrases in 3 to 4 liner text advertisements.

As a very simple example of how this works, lets say that you own a garden supply shop. You may choose to use a phrase like hydrangeas in your PPC ads. Your ad will only be displayed alongside search results for this term; allowing you to display your ad to those consumers who are already interested in this topic. Since your advertisements are shown only to the people who are your most likely customers, the rate of response is inherently higher with PPC advertising.

The following are a few helpful hints for reaching your target market with PPC campaigns:

Keyword research: If your website is optimized for a certain keyword or keywords use them as the basis for some of your PPC ads. Its also a good idea to find out which relevant keywords are among the most popular with web users. You can use free tools such as the Google AdWords program provides or any number of commercial software packages for this.

PPC ad copy: There is an art to writing this sort of extremely short form copy. You have even less space than you would if you were advertising by text message, so youll have to make every word count. Focus on phrases like buy hydrangeas at (your site here) or low priced hydrangeas and the like. What youre trying to do is to make it obvious that you can purchase the product by clicking the link. This may seem like a no-brainer, but its surprisingly effective; and it helps to weed out people looking for freebies.

Use global negatives: You can define your campaigns to exclude searches based on specific terms. If your keywords lend themselves to showing up in unrelated searches, youll want to try to exclude search terms which tend to bring these irrelevant results up. Many internet marketers dont understand how to use this feature, but you need to ” it allows you to narrowly focus your advertising.

Track and refine your PPC campaigns as you go: One of the biggest advantages of PPC advertising is that it offers a degree of accountability that few if any other advertising strategies can match. If youre using Google PPC ads, youll be able to track your impression statistics, your click through rate as well as your conversion rate.

Geo-targeting: Geo-targeting is useful when your online presence is used to promote an offline business. Local Search is the actual search one does, but with the intentions of doing it in a particular area only. Geo-targeting lets you target your ads to specific locations and languages. For each AdWords campaign, you can select the countries or regions and the language(s) for your ad.

You can make an experiment with different ad copy and keywords for your PPC advertising to find which work best. Drop ads which arent performing well for you and focus on the ones that are. Since you can monitor your response rate and conversions easily, you can adapt your campaigns on the fly ” one of the great strengths of PPC advertising.

A regular question I get from small and medium sized business owners is just how much they should be spending on search engine optimization. The reality is that your SEO efforts should be based on the number of websites you’re trying to improve rankings for as well as the number of keywords you are managing. Regardless of the number, SEO requires time and effort.

Despite popular belief, search engine optimization is not free. Many times, individuals try to compare SEO to pay-per-click or search engine marketing, but the two are very dissimilar. Many of the costs associated with SEO are involved in labor, site development, and acquisition of in-bound links. Unlike PPC, search engine optimization does not work on a pay-per-click basis.

The costs involved with search engine optimization come in when resources are needed to analyze your web site from an SEO perspective. You may also spend a great deal of time doing keyword research and analyzing your competitors. In each of these scenarios, you are either paying a professional to do the work for you or spending your valuable time managing these tasks. As a result, you are spending money. Even if you are managing a project by yourself, you are experiencing costs. What is your hourly rate in terms of dollars? What is your time worth? These factors should be part of your cost calculation.

The cost of doing things on your own are real. A great way to determine actual costs is by dividing your current salary by two thousand labor hours or the equivalent of a full year of work. This gives you an hourly rate. If you are doing much of the heavy lifting for your SEO efforts, this is essentially the price you’re paying. It may not feel like the same as paying someone an hourly fee but the impact is virtually the same.

Once you have completed a review of your web site, completed the necessary analysis, and have determined the ideal keywords you are going to optimize for, the true work begins. And this work can be very costly. Again, you have to consider the time you are spending on SEO related activities and how much its costing you by not focusing on other, more challenging opportunities. The process of link building is an arduous one and can be outsourced to expedite the process or simply lower costs.

I have found that the best ways to save money is through prioritization. There are a variety of software applications that can help you make the most of your search engine optimization. It’s essential to have an idea of which tasks can help you achieve specific outcomes and find the most affordable way to complete them. Once you’ve prioritized your to do list, consider the expense of software, your own time, or a third party in getting the work done. You want to find the most cost effective solution to complete your search engine work.

SEO is certainly not free. You may consider it less expensive than other forms of online marketing because you’re doing much of the work on your own. However, you should consider the value of your personal time and alternatives for reducing your workload and improving results. Whether you are thinking about online resources or additional individuals to do a number of the repetitive tasks necessary to build in-bound links and corresponding page rank, your analysis should consider costs and benefits. Even though SEO is not free, its worth every cent.

You have finally put together a great PPC campaign and feel that you can now relax and see the sales pour in. Unfortunately this is not the way PPC advertising works. Once you have set up your campaign your work is far from over. You will need to manage your campaign carefully to make sure that you are earning the maximum amount from it. One of the critical areas to examine is your keywords.

You will be using two different types of keywords. These are general, broad ranged keywords and the more targeted keywords.

The general keywords will be the ones which attract a lot of traffic but will generally lead to few sales as they may not actually be interested in your product. These keywords will be a much vaguer version of your desired field.

People using the niche keywords are more interested in your specific field. However, the niche keywords generally attract much less traffic. This decrease in traffic is usually offset by an increase in sales conversion.

Understanding keywords can lead to greater success in a PPC advertising campaign. One common cause of a failing campaign is poor keyword selection. While you want to draw people to your site, you need to make sure you are drawing people who will buy your product or service. Otherwise you are spending money on pointless clicks.

Monitor your keywords carefully. You can do this by tracking each one and seeing how much traffic they are bringing in. This is done by using the PPC engine software for tracking each keyword. Google Adwords is particularly useful in this way as they have good tracking tools that you can use.

Next you will examine the conversion rate of the keyword, how many clicks convert to sales. As mentioned above, general keywords will have a lower ratio, with high traffic and niche keywords a higher ratio, but with less traffic, you need to assess the worth of each keyword. Remember every click costs you money.

Next you will want to compare the price of your clicks against the number of sales generated per click. This will give you a good idea of your profits. If you feel a keyword is not performing well enough, you will want to make some adjustments to maximize your potential.

Another thing to consider is keyword trends. The word which people use to search for a particular topic can often change. When this happens your keywords will become more or less effective. Due to this you may need to alter bids to change positioning of those keywords.

Any keyword that is not pulling a profit needs to be analyzed carefully. Poor performing keywords need to be evaluated, using the criteria mentioned above. If necessary you will need to adjust the keywords. Do not delete them as search trends may vary and make the keywords useful again. Instead try to pause them and if necessary replace the keywords for better ROI.

PPC campaign management is a vital part of your advertising campaign. You will need to keep an eye on your PPC campaign if you wish to make serious money from it. An area that requires attention is the amount you are bidding on a keyword.

by Brian Basch

PPC campaign management is a vital part of your advertising campaign. You will need to keep an eye on your PPC campaign if you wish to make serious money from it. An area that requires attention is the amount you are bidding on a keyword.

Bidding determines the positioning of your ad. The higher your bid the better your ad position will be. It is important to be among the first 3 pages of the search results. This is because searchers rarely go beyond the first 5 pages of search results. However you do not always have to be first place as there are usually around 6 to 10 ads on the first search page. The difference in cost between the first and third place can be quite a lot. You will save money and not really lose much exposure by opting for third place instead of first with your ad.

Bidding wars with competitors should be avoided as much as possible. They can get quite expensive and you can end up losing money. The popular keywords can get expensive to put into a good position. Unless you are promoting a product which will turn a rather large profit you may want to avoid the expensive top spots for a hot keyword.

Keyword bids should be assessed as to how well they are converting and what their actual cost per sale is. For example if you are paying $1 per click and it takes a hundred clicks to get a sale from that keyword you need to be making a profit of over $100 on each sale. On the other hand if you are only paying 5c per click then you would only need to be making over $5 per sale.

Bids and positions are vital to the success of your campaign. If a keyword in a good position is not performing too well, lower your bid or even put the keyword on pause. However if a keyword in a lower position is pulling good sales you can make the bid higher and improve the position. In this way you will increase your sales and make more profit. By these types of adjustments you can improve your ROI, return on investment.

When you are beginning PPC advertising campaign management, things can get out of control very quickly. For this reason, PPC engines such as Google Adwords offer daily budget options. These budgets will make sure you don’t spend too much money before you have a chance to analyze and tweak your campaign. This option can save you a great deal of money and can be removed once you have things under control.

by Michael Fleischner

The more I work with Internet marketing, the more I learn that all types of marketing are intertwined. In fact, many forms of marketing, like PPC can be critical to launching successful search engine optimization campaigns.

Collecting information from your PPC marketing can prove incredibly valuable to your search engine optimization. As you already know, pay-per-click marketing can give you a tremendous amount of information in a very short period of time. What’s even better is that this information can help to direct other marketing campaigns including search engine optimization.

Qualified visitors are those that have a higher degree of interest in your products or services and a greater likelihood of purchasing your products. I’ve often seen websites that have reduced their traffic while significantly improving conversion rates. The result is lower costs related to traffic acquisition and higher revenue. With more revenue and less expense, margins reach a new level of success.

Most people focused exclusively on pay-per-click advertising may not have the full understanding of the true value of the information they collect. By knowing which keywords convert, they have the magic formula for marketing online. The terms that convert browsers to buyers can be applies to SEO. By optimizing only those terms that have shown conversions, search engine optimization can be more effective.

Once you have the answer and know which terms produce the greatest conversions, regardless of ad variation, then you SEO keywords have been determined. You want to generate organic traffic to the same keywords you’re promoting through PPC as long as they are generating your highest conversions.

One way to think about this is a company that’s selling widgets. If they use PPC, they probably know that the term, discount widget converts the highest of any keyword term. As a result, they should be focusing their organic campaigns around optimizing that particular keyword. Once the phrase appears at the top of the search results, one can reduce the amount spent via pay per click and enjoy the benefits of targeted traffic.

After you’ve gotten more sophistication around converting pay per click terms and started an optimization campaign, it’s time to focus on other elements that can help with conversion. One of the most important is your web site and landing page. Most people work to optimize search terms that drive individuals to a web site. If that’s the case with you consider looking at your home page or web site landing page with a new perspective. Once a visitor is there, do you have a clear call to action? If not, consider revamping your landing pages to get browsers to take action.

Winning at search engine optimization begins with a winning PPC strategy, data, and a knowledge of what keywords convert for you. Armed with this information, you can influence your search engine campaigns and make sure you’re focused on the phrases that generate the biggest bang for the buck. PPC and SEO really do work together.

Raymond Fong came to the United States by way of Taiwan. He moved to the “Land of Opportunity” when he was 9-years-old. Prior to his move, he lived in Taiwan for four years without his mother while she entered the U.S. and through a rigorous immigration p

Not surprisingly, Raymond was fond of school. As a high school student, he earned straight A’s, graduating with an International Baccalaureate Diploma and a 4.0 GPA. Realizing the importance of education, Raymond enrolled at Harvey Mudd College in 1999 where he studied engineering. Still a teenager, Raymond dedicated endless hours of his time to working in physics labs and spending time on his MicroProcessor Project. He also took an opportunity to study in Australia for a semester.

Four years later in 2003, Raymond graduated with a degree in engineering and went to work for an aerospace company. At first glance, Raymond felt that he had “arrived,” earning nearly $100,000 in salary and bonuses at his first professional job. This way of thinking, however, quickly shifted. Not long after he started working for the company, a round of employees were laid off. Suddenly job security was an issue. This little event got Raymond to thinking there must be something more out there for him.

The first obvious and next step for Raymond was to continue his education. He enrolled at the University of Southern California and pursued a master’s degree in computer engineering. He left USC in 2005 with his graduate degree in hand. However, things had changed for Raymond during those two years. Raymond realized that he was not the “9 to 5″ type of guy. He didn’t want to get up every morning and go to work for 8 dreadful hours. He believed there was more to life than that and he set off on a mission to find it.

After considering his options, Raymond decided he was better off as an entrepreneur. Specifically, he was interested in multi-level marketing. He introduced it to Fernando Ceballos, who is now his current business partner. Raymond realized success in his MLM business, but he wasn’t completely satisfied with the venture. He and Fernando began working on an online approach to network marketing. Raymond built several key relationships with top marketing gurus such as Mike Dillard, Jimmy Davis, Russel Wright, and Tim Erway.

When Raymond Fong was 5-years-old his mother left him in Taiwan and headed for the United States where she began the immigration process. Fong spent four long years without his mother before she successfully moved him to the “Land of Opportunity” at the age of 9. In America, Raymond was afforded the freedom to act on his ideas and professional goals. From rocket scientist to marketing guru, Raymond has accomplished many things at a young age. Here is how it all happened.

All of Raymond’s hard work paid off and in 2003 he left Harvey Mudd College with a degree in engineering and quickly found a position with an aerospace company. Raymond was pleased with his progress. His new job afforded him many luxurious including a generous annual salary of approximately $100,000. Life was good, or was it? Raymond began to contemplate his next career move when a group of co-workers were laid off not long after he was hired. Raymond began to realize that he wanted something more and this is when things really started to shift for him.

Thinking his answer to security could be found with added education, Raymond returned to the classroom, this time seeking a master’s degree in computer engineering from the University of Southern California. He would later graduate with his graduate degree in 2005. But in the meantime, Raymond experienced another important revelation – his passion for engineering was strong, but his interest in traditional employment was not. This is when Raymond knew that he was in for a big change.

Raymond’s efforts did not go unnoticed, thanks to his partnerships, he was able to develop a training method that helped his down-lines improve their output. Raymond could have stopped here, but stopping is not in his nature. The marketing professional continued to learn and grow and utilized his new skills to help others. Currently, Raymond offers several services that compliment his skills in social networking, copywriting, social content, search engine domination, article marketing, and search engine optimization. He is the owner of Affinity Integration, an online marketing firm that specializes in Internet marketing optimization.

Of course, Raymond always has his hand in many projects. He is also involved in various online marketing projects. He helped develop the InterNet Worth Marketing business model that assists MLMers in gaining larger paychecks. He is also the co-founder of Attraction Marketing Formula, a company founded by he and Fernando that teaches important skills needed to generate traffic to a Web site. Raymond also worked closely with his mentor, Mike Dillard, to develop Mike’s BetterNetworker.com, a top online community dedicated to home business owners.

Dear Friend,

by Jason Glover

Dear Friend,

Keywords are used all the time to help website owners get a much higher ranking. This can be a very effective way for people to get more traffic to their website. However, the overuse of keywords has lead to a lot of abuse and has created problems for many people who use keywords too often.

To aid in reducing this abuse, search engine webmasters have created algorithms to aid them in determining what sites are offering valuable content and which ones are not. Currently, keywords that have 12% of keywords used in it are being looked into.

There is a tracking method that aids in finding the web owners who are misusing keywords. If you have an article that is overly saturated with keywords, then it can be tracked. For instance if you have an article of 500 words and you have 20 keywords in it then you will be caught for keyword abuse.

This has lead to a lot of SEO writing jobs for many people. If you are a writer, this has opened up many doors for you. The best way to write good SEO articles is to certain they have high quality content that is informative and offers a lot of good information to the reader. When you are certain to write about what the reader is interested in reading, you are much more likely to keep their attention and they will click on your link to your site.

When writing you should not focus a much on the keywords but the information the article gives. If you are writing an article about a produce you are selling for instance, tell your readers what the product does and why they need to have it. The key thing is to give the reader informative information and place keywords strategically. This is the way to get the most use from the SEO technique

When writing your article, do make the keywords seem forced. Rather, focus on quality content for the article. If you do not have information the reader wants, they will simply not read it. Another very important thing to remember is make certain you have excellent grammar throughout your article. If you do not, this makes you look like you arent smart enough to know what you are talking about and your readers will find it as a big turn off.

Many people use the services of a freelance writer to do the writing for them. Often times people may not have the time or the desire to write themselves and you can reasonably get a freelancer to write for you. Another reason to consider doing this is the writer will be certain the article is informative and has good grammar. They are doing this as a job and this can make a world of difference when it comes to writing articles.

To your success

Jason

P.S. However, to gain experience, consider writing your own first article prior to hiring help.

For some time now, pay per click advertising has proved it is one of the most effective methods of traffic generation. This is the system of choice owing to how successful it is compared to may other types currently available. If you haven’t tried this before but have considered using pay per click then you may have some questions which will need to be addressed.

Essentially, when you decide that you want to try this kind of advertising, you will create a small ad referring to your site that will be put up on a larger site that many people frequently look at.

The sites that provide you with hosting when it comes to this sort of advertisement are usually big with a large amount of traffic and will have some relationship to the product or services that you are trying to put across. However this is not the only advantage because you only pay for the advertising when it is used, which means if someone doesn’t visit your site through the link you do not pay.

Rather than paying for a month’s worth of advertisements that might bring you no clients, here, you will only pay when people notice the advertisement and then go on to your site. In the early days it was often said that a competitor would try to deplete their competitors advertising budget by clicking on their link until they used it up but this rarely happens these days. The advantage of this pay per click system is just how directed the advertising is and of course, more effective use of a marketing budget. You basically have a captive audience of people looking for something you are marketing, on a related site they are visiting.

One of the largest pay per click advertising opportunities out there is Google’s Adwords. All that happens is people will only see your advert if they enter a search phrase or just a single word that you have designated Google to use. Next to the natural search results, you’ll find that your ad shows up along the top or on the sidebar.

These instant results cannot be beaten in any other advertising medium and it is that attracts pay per click customers. It doesn’t take very long for you to discover whether you will need to adjust the advert. Almost all top companies will use pay per click as part of their marketing structure because it is perceived as being the most effective.

How do you get more traffic to your site? It’s not that complicated when you have knowledge of the valuable methods involved. Web traffic is essential for success. High web traffic means sales.

Listed below are 5 techniques you can use to boost more traffic and potentially great prospects to your website:

1. Search Engine Optimization (SEO) – SEO helps you to improve your websites ranking by increasing the organic or natural search results of your website for a particular keyword. If your website is ranked high in the related keyword search by the search engines, you will get tons of free internet traffic to your website.

2. Article Marketing – Article marketing has many benefits which may include building credibility as an author, lead generation, more traffic to your web site, improved search engine position and is becoming a necessary tool for online businesses.

3. Pay Per Click Advertising – Pay per click advertising is one of the easiest ways to drive traffic to your website. As always, the key to an effective Pay Per Click campaign, lies in properly targeting potential visitors. The returns are continuous and proportionate to the attention paid to the campaign flow.

4. Affiliate Marketing – Affiliate marketing is a very effective way for any website owner to earn money or increase sales of their products and services. The affiliate programs allow affiliates to advertise your business and they get paid whenever traffic or sale is directed to the merchant’s website.

5. Site Exit Traffic – Capturing exit traffic is a very useful technique where you pay to redirect traffic to you when a visitor leaves a site in their network. This usually occurs with a pop-up window which displays a page on your site. Providing your visitors with an alternative to your site at the point that they exit is a smart way to cycle traffic through a ring of your own web sites.
