We are inundated with ads that tell we can make massive amounts of money just sitting on our couch doing nothing but clicking a few buttons and downing our bag of Cheetos. These messages trick so many people into thinking they can get rich without providing anything very valuable. Unfortunately these people get all pumped up to make 457,000 in their first week and never actually take the time to create or provide something valuable and instead create or provide pure drivel, yes that’s right, drivel.
Imagine for a minute (not too many minutes) that you do in fact rush for the big bucks as soon as possible. Inevitably your product or service will lack the mmmph to have any staying power whatsoever, your customers won’t be satisfied and the worst part is that they’ll remember you and your name long after your business is dead gone thereby hampering any future plans you might have.
Then how do you create value?
You must personally have value to create and distribute it. If you haven’t obtained any value then go get it. What do I mean? Gain valuable knowledge and learn valuable skills. Those who have created the best products have in almost every case invested huge amounts of time and energy to reach their goals.
Everywhere you look there are examples of these kinds of people. Some more notable ones are Bill Gates, Tony Robbins, Tim Ferriss, Michael Jordan , Steve Jobs and the list could go on forever. Everyone of them put every ounce of spare energy into realizing their goals and providing the world with something so valuable it was hard for us not to admire and buy their products. They created products so valuable they moved millions and billions of people to take action.
Tangible value is value that people will act on. You can tell if you’ve created substantial tangible value if people change themselves and their routines because of what you’ve produced and not merely an pat on the back or approving nod. Inspire your customers to take action by creating something so valuable there’s no question of if they will buy but when they’ll buy.
So to create tangible value you need to obtain tangible value for yourself. Pick a few interests and find out what the most popular books are on those subjects. Go check them out. See if there are any clubs surrounding those interests or hobbies and join them. Audit some classes at your local college.
The best way to absorb and internalize your the value your gaining is to teach it to others. I would suggest starting a blog where you can write down interesting concepts and insights related to your niche. Make videos demonstrating certain skills. You’ll internalize it more and start building a following at the same time.
CHOOSE A TOPIC NOW
Is it Philosophy? Maybe you’ve always wanted to learn Mandarin Chinese? Have you ever wished you knew more about finance or auto mechanics?Quilting? Scrap booking? Horseback Riding? Glass making? The possibilities are endless. The key is to chose one and dive in.
REMEMBER, the best way to cement your new found knowledge or skill is to teach it to others.
There you have it. You now have something valuable to give to others. If you can teach how to gain to a skill or if you can teach a complex concept to your niche then you’ll start providing real value. All the while you’ll learning more and faster as long as you keep teaching. It becomes clear that legitimate E businesses will take longer to be profitable than is often advertised.
Everyday we see a new business rocket to the top of their industry or more commonly make way too much money for our brains to even comprehend
what we never see is the preparation, the investment and the nitty gritty blood sweat and tears that go into their products or services before launching. Remember that it will take hard work but as you know the sky is the limit
GET GOING! Now is the time to start. Dive into your interest and start teaching! If you already have a lot of knowledge about something start teaching. Start TEACHING TEACHING TEACHING!
