Home Based Business – Stop the Fantasy

March 16th, 2010

Everyone wants to get rich quickly and easily. But there’s no such thing as getting rich quick. Believing the hype surrounding get rich quick schemes can lead not only to disappointment but also to financial disaster. Getting rich is a slow process. There’s no quick way to a six or seven figure income. The promise of a massive payout for doing almost nothing or mailing chain letters is tempting, but it won’t get you anywhere. You have to ignore the gifting programs, ponzi schemes and the screenshots of massive paypal or clickbank payouts that are meant to draw you in. Don’t be fooled.

I remember a song that was out a while ago, called “Don’t believe the hype.” You should keep that song in mind when looking at get rich quick schemes. You should also realize that there is a lot of bragging and exaggeration on the internet. There are plenty of images of people sitting on mountains of cash, standing in front of mansions, relaxing on a yacht off the coast of the French Riviera or leaning against Lamborghinis and Ferraris. These images are unavoidable. In fact, just today I got an email about an automatic cash pumping machine.

How to get rich quick

I’ve received emails and ads from people who tell me that operating an internet business is as easy as withdrawing money from an ATM 24/7. Well, what they forget to tell you is that in order to get money out of an ATM, you first have to have money in your account. I simply delete these messages without reading them. I don’t want to be lied to anymore, and you shouldn’t waste your precious time reading them either.

Online marketing is often associated with the idea of instant riches. But when you get something easily you don’t appreciate it. A reward is much more valuable when you have worked to earn it. As you develop your marketing skills you will see that, at least to a certain degree, you can better control your own destiny. You’re not dependent on other people’s whims, especially when they may not be working in your best interest.

Through working to build your own business, you also develop the mindset, skills, talents, and work ethic to create wealth. If you hit a rough patch and lose all of your money, you will still have the confidence that you can rebuilt your empire. Wealth starts with your thoughts. Ask Donald Trump or Robert Kiyosaki.

Donald Trump and Robert Kiyosaki are examples of this ethic. Donald Trump once was asked what would become of him if he were no longer rich. He was not worried. He replied he would just make himself rich again. He had already done it and the process was not a mystery to him. He had confidence in his mental abilities and he knew he had the will and the motivation needed to create wealth over and over.

Wealth accumulation is not a sprint. It’s a marathon. Treat your online business the same way you would treat your offline business. Would you expect to become rich overnight from owning a franchise or a mom and pop store? Certainly not! So, why would you expect to achieve untold wealth in 30-90 days in your internet business?

I’ve heard people say that they will work their online business for a couple or months to see how it works out. One to three months isn’t much time at all. If you are serious about growing a replacement income for your current job or a walk away income as you start building your fortune, a minimum commitment is 1-3 years. Don’t short-change yourself by thinking anything else.

So let’s decide now: do you want to dream of getting rich, or do you want to start giving your full attention to actually getting rich, permanently? Which choice seems better to you?

Internet Businesses

March 10th, 2010

Recent market surveys indicate that the growth rate of Internet purchases has been incredibly high during the last couple of years, and in spite of the conditions of the actual world financial crisis that made the online orders register a corresponding decrease, things still look pretty bright for the Internet. However, from this perspective, people who promote a service or product as part of an Internet business have many things to do before they can see the money rolling in.

E-retailing remains a profitable Internet business, but heavy promotional support is usually necessary to beat competition and generate profit. Behind the comprehensive online web catalogues that advertise us all sorts of things, there lies a huge amount of work to support not only the web page as such, but to run constant market analysis and have a realistic picture of where the business stands on the e-market. A pertinent example here would be that of analysing the first-page search results of engines like Google and Yahoo.

The Internet business with the highest likelihood to complete a transaction is the one that appears first when a searcher types a keyword in the search box of the search engine. Therefore, the big competition between the various companies active online is to have a high page rank and a proper representation in the search engines.

This can only be achieved by the professional support of the web site and constant monitoring of the site performance, according to the number of site visitors and the resulting transactions.

So, just like for real-life money-making opportunities, an Internet business needs thoughtful planning. Thus, one targets the niche market, gathers information on the competition, ensures good resources, attracts finances and funds, if necessary and takes the measures that build customers’ loyalty. Moreover, depending on the sort of product or service offered, the Internet business could require a strategic alliance with other entrepreneurs.

Therefore, for every Internet business idea you have, you have to learn whether there is a market to address. Then, if you lack the budget to invest, you need to find alternative financing options to support you entrepreneurial aspirations. And finally, you should never forget web site investment.

The design and full-time support that keeps your Internet business running could easily cost you a small monthly fortune. Nevertheless, the website is your interface, the place where the customer gets to see your product or service, and the impression has to be good. All the best!

A Brief Note Regarding Builder Theme Review For Users

March 7th, 2010

Most people use the free Wordpress system to build their blogs and websites. The system is easy to use and a person can get up and running fairly quickly. This Builder Theme review is going to talk a little about how great this tool is for taking your Wordpress website or blog to the next level and creating the kind of unique and distinctive look that will give you the brand recognition you want.

The group that built the Builder have been dedicated to creating products to make Wordpress a more useful tool for people. If you have set up a website or blog in Wordpress, you have already experienced the inflexibility of the themes that are provided by the system.

Many people who begin their blogs and websites on Wordpress eventually get frustrated when they can’t get out of the “theme” box and start making their own decisions about color, design and layout. Most of these people wind up paying for a more flexible system that they have some control over.

There are some great things about this program. It’s very easy to navigate, has some great tutorials, and there is always a video on the website that can give you tips and tricks for making things function more effectively. But, the program is really secondary to the team that build the program. We all know that a program is only as good as the people who stand behind it. Being able to watch Chris, one of the builders, go through each part of the program and explain how to move things or create something is really great.

I’m not a programmer or a “designer”. I am a person who wants to be able to tweak Wordpress and not be forced to use a theme that I’m not 100% happy with. I needed something, a tool, that would give me the power to make my own designs, change colors, move widgets or choose a different theme.

I was able to build a five page website that had all the bells and whistles in about a half hour. This included the time that I played with different attributes and checked out some extra features. The cool thing about Builder is that you get a thumb nail that shows the result of each change and you can see each change you have done without having to publish the site to see it.

Then there is the iThemes team. If I have a question, suggestion, or problem, there is somebody there who can help. The whole group is familiar with all of the intricacies of Builder and Wordpress and can walk me through any issue easily. This is such a nice change from some programs I have purchased and then been unable to get any kind of support for.

I’ve used a lot of design programs, but I honestly have not seen one like this. The Theme Builder review was completed by playing with it, creating a website and blog, and clicking each button to see what would happen. Followed by calling and getting assistance for how to get out of the mess that I had gotten myself into clicking every button. For me, the program and its quality is important, but the people that build it and support it have the same level of importance. I am totally happy with this product and highly recommend it.

Amazon – Changing The Way We Read (Again)

February 26th, 2010

Amazon is the largest bookseller in the world. It is also America\’s biggest online retailer. Founded in 1994 by Jeff Bezos, the company now has separate websites in the UK, France, Germany, Canada and China. It is, in short, a very successful business.

Considering its current level of success, it\’s easy to forget just what an innovative idea buying books online and having them delivered by mail was at the time. Many investors and business analysts predicted trouble for Amazon during its formative years – and it was not until the end of 2001 that Amazon eventually made a profit.

Having changed the way that a lot of people bought books, Amazon quickly diversified into music CDs, video, consumer electronics and computer software – among other things. Today there aren\’t many consumer items that you can\’t get online from Amazon. You can even buy your groceries from them should you wish.

As diversified and successful as Amazon is today, they still have an extremely strong association with books. Selling books is very obviously something that the company is passionate about. So, when the original Amazon Kindle e-book reader was released in November of 2007, it soon became clear that this was a great product for Amazon – it slotted right in to their business model perfectly.

It\’s also easy to forget that the Kindle wasn\’t the first e-book reader – not by a long way. Franklin\’s eBookman had been released a decade earlier in 1999. The Sony PRS also stole a march on the Kindle when it launched in 2006. However, Amazon don\’t seem to have suffered very much as a result of their tardiness. Thanks to their link with books, public awareness and trust in the Amazon brand, combined with the fact that there was a large, and ever expanding, selection of Kindle books and Kindle accessories to choose from, the Kindle rapidly overtook its competitors. In February of 2009 the improved and enhanced Kindle 2.0 was launched, rapidly followed by the large format DX model, and Amazon\’s leading position solidified even more. The Kindle quickly became Amazon\’s best selling product and, during the Christmas period of 2009, the Kindle became the \”most gifted\” Amazon product ever.

At this time, the Kindle is still the leader of the pack in the e-book reader market – but competition is increasing at a rapid rate. Other e-book readers with color screens and touch screen controls are available. After only a few short months, the Kindle is starting to look just a little bit dated. Of course, analysing the e-book reader market purely in terms of the hardware capability is not valid.

The fact is that Amazon, probably more so than any of its current competitors, knows what people who read a lot of books – its best customers – value. This is the reason why we can expect to see Amazon\’s domination of the e-book reader market continuing in future. This is not the first reading revolution that Amazon have been involved in. They know what they\’re doing.

Discover the Amazon Kindle and view the wide range of Kindle accessories available to help you customise and protect your reader.

Web Marketing Secrets Of A Successful Internet Business Finally Revealed

February 20th, 2010

For today\’s internet marketing advertising business owners there is a growing complexity as to what are the best ways to advertise their goods and services. With all the many marketing options out there today it can become rather confusing when it comes to selecting the top on and offline marketing systems.

Today\’s challenging economic environment is really putting small business owners to task when it comes to earning above average incomes.

What I would like to accomplish with this article is to give some solid marketing advice to internet business owners so they can move forward with their marketing strategies with confidence. At the same time I would like to introduce an easy way for each internet business to earn a sizeable income by showing others this easy-to-implement marketing system.

Now I would like to assess some of the most common marketing systems used and why they aren\’t the most effective or easy to use.

1. Pay-Per-Click: Also known as ppc marketing. This is where the web marketing firm places ads on Google, Bing, Yahoo, etc. and they pay a pre-determined amount for each visitor that clicks on their ad. This can be a good way to reach targeted prospects for your goods or service. It can also be very complex and frustrating as the search engines, especially Google, change their algorithms quite frequently. For example, back in December 2009, Google banned over 100,000 advertisers from their network. Many of these were long-time web marketing businesses that have advertised for many years.

2. Social marketing, A.K.A. web 2.0 marketing: This is where you create accounts at places such as: Twitter, Facebook, MySpace, Squidoo, Hubpages, etc. and create a profile of yourself and what it is that you do. The great thing about this type of marketing is that you\’re creating relationships with prospects. The difficult part is creating a profile that is optimized for the various sites. Not only that, but you are spending tremendous amounts of time trying to get a bunch of followers so you can eventually sell them something. Also it seems that once you develop followers it can be hard to keep them by attrition. I.E. fads come and go and right now it seems Twitter is the in fad, but how much longer will it last?

3. You can place ads on classified sites like Craigslist, Backpage, Kijiji, etc. The hard part is spending hours each day placing these ads. It seems as if everyone else on these sites are doing the exact same thing: trying to sell something and having no interest in buying anything from your internet business.

4. Offline Advertising Methods: You place your ads that are usually not targeted very well in Magazines, on TV, in Newspapers, on Billboards, etc. Your ad is typically shown to a wide demographic at a rather ad cost. This can work if you offer a good or service that\’s needed by a large percentage of society. However, if you need to zero in on a target market your ad will usually have a low conversion rate. These types of ad placements can also be very expensive and take a long time to produce substantial results.

Now that we have discussed some common online internet marketing advertising methods, I would like to take a quick look at some little-used, yet extremely effective methods for Internet businesses:

1. Broadcasting with a Fax: You can send out fax broadcasts to many targeted prospects for very little expense. The fax can produce rapid results.

2. Postcard mailing: With most all businesses advertising on the internet today, most have forgotten that direct mailing of postcards, when sent to a targeted list, can be the best way to connect with your target market in a low-cost way. Not only that, but your competition is low and prospects love having something in their hands.

3. Email Marketing: Due to the 2003 Can Spam Act this marketing method has lost some of it\’s sizzle in recent years. Especially for those that don\’t know how to do correctly. You see, if you broadcast your message to a large, annonymous audience you most likely will end up with little if any results. However, if you send out a smaller broadcast to a list of people that have requested information on whatever it is you\’re selling. You will be astounded at the high level of response.

About the author: Wayne Hinrichs has operated a profitable small business internet marketing company for the last half decade. He enjoys assisting others with this complex task. web marketing is the top factor in determining a companies profitability. As an owner knows how to get their message out to their target market, the other parts of the business becomes rather easy.
