How To Steal Your Competitors Niche Marketing Stratagy

January 22nd, 2009

I’d like to share with you a simple little formula for turning your niche marketing efforts it to guaranteed profits. The method I frequently use is simply a legal form of cloning successful websites. Anyone can use to this idea to generate an almost instant profit over and over again.

My reason for skimming over this particular method here is basically to give those new or novice niche marketers a head start, as it offers a quick return on investment and time. Although I’m going to be talking about cloning successful niche marketing websites I’m not suggesting that you steal other peoples work.

The word cloning as far as Internet marketing goes is normally associated with mirroring a site down to the last detail which is outright plagiarism, and should not be attempted. The method of cloning I’ll be showing you is based on finding a successful competitor and then using their methods, copy style, marketing strategy and overall look . Basically I’m going skim over this method to quickly show you how to find a profitable niche market and then utalise the best bits of your successful competitors marketing strategy and apply it to your own business.

Please remember this is legal, Here’s how you can implement this method, to begin with your going to need to find a niche market, an area of a larger market which is being under-served by most of the bigger websites, you might already have an idea or an interest which you can exploit, but if not don’t worry, everything here is very easy to accomplish.

Step A.

Consider your interest and expertise or a niche area in which you have some interest, while this is not the definitive place to start your search, it is well known that novices or newbie niche marketers can do well relatively quickly when tackling a subject they already know about.

Step B.

You might have an idea of the markets your going to be researching. If not your going to need to do some research, I suggest you open another window and put ‘Google keywords tool’ in the browser (don’t worry, it’s free). Enter your niche keyword or phrase into the software and hit enter. The Google keywords tool will return a list of relative keywords to your original inquiry. Scan the new list and look for something that you think might turn out to be profitable.

Step 3.

Assuming you found something of interest within this new list, put it in your Google browser (another window) and do a search, you should be looking for an area of a market that returns around 150,000 or less sites, (just my opinion), ideally you should also look to have at least five sponsored PPC listings, there’s a reason for this which I’ll explain soon.

Step 4.

Having established that your potential niche market is profitable you now need to exploit your competition, to carry out this task you will need to download the free version of software called ‘Traffic travis’, I’m sure there are lots of software applications which do the same but traffic travis is the software I use. Enter your keywords and phrases into the software (follow the video tutorial).

Following this procedure will show you how many people are bidding on those keywords in the PPC market. This procedure is just to determine if people are willing to consistently pay money to have their ad appear for those keywords, this is a great tool for spying on your competitors as it not only shows you which keywords are obviously profitable, plus the complete list of keywords your they are using to market their website!.

Step 5.

When your happy with your potential niche market, and have established that it may be profitable, you will have to find a product which you can brand, that matches your competition’s product closely, you might even want to put your own product together, if so you can pretty much build an ebook from scratch by visiting forum and researching their questions and answers, this can take some time so for this example and for speed I’m going to suggest finding a suitable PLR book which you can alter to your specific needs. You need to find a PLR product which allows you to edit, re-brand, or alter in any way you wish. The PLR license you require should look something like this:

100% FULL Unrestricted PLR Rights License, You may do with this product as You please

[Yes] Has Sales Page

[Yes] Can be given away.

[Yes] Can be packaged.

[Yes] Can be offered as a bonus.

[Yes] Can Be Edited Completely and Your Name Put on it.

[Yes] Can be used as web content

[Yes] Can be broken down into articles

[Yes] Can be added to paid membership sites

[Yes] Can be offered through auction sites.

[Yes] Can sell Resale Rights

[Yes] Can sell Master Resale Rights

[Yes] Can sell Private Label Rights

You can find PLR ebooks and packages on almost any subject you like, try searching via the Internet PLR products on your chosen niche market. The age of the product is not really to important as you will probably ad to it, don’t worry about finding a product with sales material as more often than not its complete rubbish anyway. You could also try a search on eBay, I’ve personally found quite a few PLR products there. When you have your PLR product / ebook I suggest you take it apart and start adding to it, what your trying to achieve her is a unique looking product, while the contents of the book may be good, they may also be a little dated or stale, take a look at the bullet lists within your competitors sales copy and then go to a few relative forums to research these bullets, now you can ad this extra info into your book. When you’ve completed your ebook you will need to turn the file into a PDF to allow everyone to download and read, you can get a free software to carry out this step here: ***Link removed in order to comply with article publishing guidelines***. You will need a new e-cover, some graphics and a header to use on your new niche web-site, Here’s a great free software you can download which works very well:

***Link removed in order to comply with article publishing guidelines***

Free header software here:

***Link removed in order to comply with article publishing guidelines***

Once you’ve stitched together your new ebook and put your name as the author, re-designed the cover header and graphics you need a good sales page. How do you get your sales page for your new niche market product?..easy, visit a your competition, read the copy and see which one draws you in, take note of what makes that page work, now copy & paste into a notepad.

Make the sales copy relevant to your own product but don’t copy it word for word, as this is plagiarism and illegal. However you alter the text be careful not to disrupt the flow of the copy, keep things as close as possible to the original copy, without actually stealing or plagiarizing it.

Marketing your new niche product (web-site) will be your next task, the best place to start will again be through researching your successful competitors methods as their methods are obviously making them money

I hope this article will be helpful for you. Good luck with your first successful niche marketing venture.

Affiliate Marketing and Just wasted a ton of money on a so called Niche ?

December 2nd, 2008

The other day, my mom shocked me. She asked me what a niche market was, and since she is not an online marketer ( doesn’t turn the computer on regularly enough to even use email ), this question appeared quite out of the blue. Perhaps I should not have been surprised because in the area of marketing but particularly affiliate internet marketing, this term is showing up more and more frequently. In truth, one of those late night, “Be the next internet Millionaire” scams that airs at 4 am for those with insomnia, also trumpets this term as something every affiliate guru online must know.

And for the rest of us – What is Niche Marketing ? And why is it so popular?

So how can we attempt to define this ?

  • It’s the current fad, but it’s not ( This fad has some really long legs )
  • It’s not going to be a good Xmas present – so don’t look for it under a tree
  • It’s not going to make anything bigger, longer or … ( u get the point )
  • And it’s not likely to be a new job opening anywhere soon

So Let’s Look at An Example

Some would say that the definition of Niche marketing is the act of narrowing down a broader consumer need in the market place until one derives at a much more focused segment that has little or no competition. Or a much smaller number of competitors.

Sort of like, instead of being a small fish lost in an ocean, let’s be a noticeable fish in a small pond

So an example might be …

Marketing to those that

  • Buy running shoes. Niche or not? Not
  • Buy Nike running shoes. Niche or not? Not (What, did that surprise you?)
  • Buy marathon capable Nike runners. Niche or not? Uhmm you’re getting warmer.
  • Buy high arched marathon capable Nike runners. Niche or not? Yes absolutely!

This last example sounds like a niche for sure. It has a narrow focus and we have eliminated several wider approaches to our target audience. So, should we run out and stock up on these specialty running shoes in anticipation of the upcoming demand?

Should you affiliate this product ?

Should you affiliate this product ?

If you want to lose your shirt go ahead! That was a joke, don’t do it. Please don’t think I slipped and just told you about my huge money maker and have now decided to take it back. Further from the truth we could not be. We have an unproven premise here.

This spur of the moment questionnaire is not the process used to find a niche market product or service. You really need a tool for that. It can be done manually but searching hundreds of ideas manually isn’t anyone’s idea of fun. That was merely an example of what a niche market might look like, but for any number of reasons, I would never enter that marketplace – and I don’t much care if 4 of my marathon running friends ask me for those specific shoes next week.

Was that an inaccurate Niche Market example ?

It wasn’t necessarily a poor example, but the truth is – far more research is required. To start off with, are those really the keywords that people use to search for this product? In the past, only search engine statistics could tell us that. Then there were great search engine tools that could help further filter that information. But to help determine whether its a great Niche product, even search engine tools like KeyWordwatcher can only go so far.

So, what kind of additional information does one need beyond how much competition is there and how many possible clients are searching for the product? This isn’t even the base of the 20 or more variables that a strong Niche software tool can hand a newbie in under a half a minute.

Save yourself some time. Don’t try to manually analyze whether or not you think you may have found a niche market product. If you have been in internet marketing or online marketing for some time, its likely that you have used Google’s excellent search engine tools hidden in the adwords product. Perhaps even you have used the key word tool from freeKeyWordwatcher. That’s how I and many others in online affiliate marketing use to start our search for Niche Market Products – but not any more. These battle tested tools are not nearly efficient enough on their own for this area of internet marketing.

Competitive Niche tool products go significantly further than just how many potential clients are searching and whether the competition has the keyword on their site. They use algorithms that use several additional variables for ranking competition.

At one time, we use to look at the competition on google and say oh my gosh there are 200,000 other sites other there with the keyword, lets not try to compete. But truthfully, sometimes only the first 30-40 websites had competitively put the keyword in their title or domain name or other keyplaces. So, a lot of us had simply left an awful lot of money on the affiliate marketing table for others to pick up.

But not any more. This tool can aid even a novice in being able to make a very competitive decision

Opening affiliate sites like clickbank and others with a related product already found and ready for you to use is another one of the many features that work together to increase a novices efficiency to no end.

Additionally, some of the niche product tools used in affiliate internet marketing can also find articles from Private Label Sources for article publishing. They can find non-click bank related products. Some can open Ebay and Amazon right there in the search for whether people actually buy in this niche area. And this is less than a 1/10th of their abilities.

Why anyone would want to search for niche products the old manual way is really beyond me. Save yourself some time have a look at a few potential products that you can use. Or watch this extraordinarily practical demo of the micro niche product as James mixes it in with Squidoo.
