The most disheartening sequence of events is when you put so much time and effort into building your website, and getting it up and running to make money online, but then end up with no visitors. The sad thing is that you may be offering a product or service which would do extremely well. Unfortunately, if nobody knows about your product or service, it has no chance of being sold. For this reason, we have put together a three step process which will ensure that people know about what you have to offer.

1. Writing Articles is Critical

Write articles which are on topic with the theme of your website, and place these articles not only on your website or blog, but also on as many article directories as possible. Even if you are not the best writer in the world, this is something that you are very competent to do. You do not have to worry about being perfect. Just write about what you are familiar with. (ie. your business niche).

Just remember that less is more. People have a limited attention span. This is especially true when reading off of a computer screen. Thus, it is important that you keep your articles in the three hundred to five hundred word range. The key here is that you want people to read your articles all the way through to the resource box. Keep in mind that the goal of every article is to inform the reader, not make a sale. Your best chance to make money online will occur on your website, not your articles.

Keep in mind that you want to steer people to your website with your articles. Once they have read your article, they will be more receptive to the sales pitch of your website as they have already been pre-sold by the article.

2. Include a Link To Your Website At The End Of Your

Since you have taken the time and exertion to create an informative article for your readers, it is only fair that you be acknowledged. Therefore, at the end of every article, it is important that you link back to your website. It is common for people to want to provide information about themselves in the resource box, then provide a link to their site. This is okay, so long as you keep it short. People generally have more of an interest in learning about what your products or services can do for them, rather than your history. Keep this in mind.

When including a link in your resource box, make sure that one of your links includes the main keywords of your home page. This is referred to as an anchor text link. Keywords are the phrase or words a visitor will type in to find your website. Make the keyword the clickable portion of the link instead of your web address. This will signal to the search engines that your website is relevant for that keyword.

3. Submit Your Article to the Major Article Directories

Once you have proofread your article, it is time to submit it to the article directories. Doing so will enable others to take your articles, anchor text links included, and put it on their websites. This will result in several websites and article directories linking back to your website. For instance, I recommend submitting your articles to Ezine Articles, Idea Marketers, Article Dashboard, Article City, and iSnare.

When we follow the wishes of our petition to make money online, we often encounter obstacles. I am sure that a few of you out there have second guessed this decision at one time or the other. If you have, realize that you are not the only person to do so. The fact of the matter is that in the beginning, most people do struggle to make money online.

As human beings, we are constantly searching for success and happiness. Just think of all of the things which have been invented by humans just in our lifetime which have made our lives so much easier. In fact, you are on one right now. The Internet. As humans we love to discover new things, new places, new people, and new ideas. These things just fascinate us.

When we are encountered by a situation which needs to be solved, something keeps us uncomfortable until we are able to locate what is causing the problem, and implement the solution. A situation which needs to be solved for many of us is our current financial position. This is exactly why so many of us sit down at our computers and search for ways to make money online.

So far I have spoken only about the positive aspects of human nature. Unfortunately, there are some negative aspects which have a tendency to hold us down and keep us planted in our current situation. While we are constantly in want of development and achievement, we also seek likeness. Often when our surroundings begin to change, we feel uneasy and unsure. As a result, we fight to keep things the same. Although our wishes are to change our circumstances, something else within us is trying to keep these circumstances constant.

1. First, we must identify what we are doing that is holding us back. Once you hold your bad habit under a spotlight, it will have a difficult time functioning.

Do you notice a pattern of behavior? Is it that every single time that you set out to make money online, you achieve the same results? It might be that at the first sign of trouble in your online business, you jump to another business as a mechanism to limit your disappointment. Make sure that you pinpoint what it is that is hurting your success.

2. When you find yourself slipping into old bad habits, make a big deal of it. Become fixated with it. Make it your goal to change this behavior. Remind yourself about the path you are about to take if you succumb to these bad habits.

3. Never let anyone get in the way of your success, not even yourself. If you are able to seize the opportunity to make money online, make sure that you keep your negative tendencies in the front of your mind so that you can recognize such behavior if it rears its head. Remind yourself several times per day that you will not give in to this behavior.

What you must know is that your ability to change your financial situation and make money online does not rest with anyone but yourself. If this is what you have set out to do, the only person who can stop you has the same name as you, looks just like you, and sleeps in your bed.
